About the Event

The cost for this workshop is $25. Because communication about dying and death is important work, I hope to make this possible for everyone. Please email me if you seek a needs-based scholarship.

Believe it or not, leaders of religious communities often find themselves feeling awkward or uncomfortable when it comes to the dying time of one of their members. As an Episcopal priest, I know of this feeling from personal experience. While my intuition and pastoral sensibilities offered me a soft landing, I wish I had had some other skills and knowledge that would have helped me navigate end of life pastoral care.

This workshop offers leaders of any religious traditions communication skills, physical signs to look for in the dying process, how to engage your tradition's symbology, theology, and traditions for both the dying, their family and friends, and your entire community. I will introduce you to ideas and practices, while other workshops dive more deeply into these learnings through experiential practices.
