Faith Leader Series: Dying & Death

Learn how to employ gifts from your tradition in caring for the dying

Believe it or not, leaders of religious communities often find themselves feeling awkward or uncomfortable when it comes to the dying time of one of their members. As an Episcopal priest, I know of this feeling from personal experience. While my intuition and pastoral sensibilities offered me a soft landing, I wish I had had some other communication skills and knowledge that would have helped me navigate end of life pastoral care. Using experiential practices, this workshop offers leaders of any religious tradition communication skills, physical signs to look for in the dying process, how to engage your tradition's symbology, theology, and traditions for both the dying, their family and friends, and your entire community.
